About Tetris Worlds (u)(menace)
I picked up Tetris Worlds for the Game Boy Advance back in 2002, a version published by THQ. It was one of many puzzle games on the system, arriving when developers were figuring out how to adapt classic formulas for a handheld screen. This one tried to build a little universe around the familiar blocks.
You control the falling tetrominoes, rotating and sliding them to create solid lines that vanish from the playfield. The main goal is to survive as long as possible by clearing lines and preventing the stack from reaching the top. Signature mechanics include the new "Square" mode, where you try to clear a predefined block structure, and the "Fusion" mode, which introduces special cascading clears. The pacing starts gently but the speed ramps up steadily, demanding quicker decisions. It feels like a calm, methodical test of your spatial planning under pressure.
