About Tetris Worlds (e)(independent)

I picked up Tetris Worlds for the Game Boy Advance back in 2002, a version published by THQ. It was one of many puzzle games available for the handheld, arriving at a time when having a portable version of Tetris felt almost essential. This particular release tried to expand on the basic formula with a few new ideas.

You control the familiar falling tetrominoes, rotating and sliding them to create solid horizontal lines that then disappear. The main objective remains clearing lines to prevent the stack from reaching the top of the screen. Signature mechanics introduced here include the "Tower" mode, where you clear a predetermined stack, and the "Fusion" mode, which adds special blocks that must be cleared in specific ways. The pacing starts gently but the difficulty ramps up steadily as the blocks fall faster. It feels satisfying to lock into that rhythmic focus, building and clearing lines with quick decisions.
