About Tetris Worlds (e)
I first played Tetris Worlds on the Game Boy Advance in 2002, a version published by THQ. It was one of several puzzle games available for the handheld at the time, offering a familiar concept with a few new additions. The game felt right at home on the GBA's screen, a portable version of a formula that was already well established.
You control the falling tetrominoes, rotating and shifting them to create solid horizontal lines. The main goal is to clear lines to prevent the blocks from stacking to the top of the playfield. Signature mechanics include the new Square mode, where you clear blocks by forming 2x2 squares, and Fusion mode, which introduces special blocks that merge together. The pacing starts gently but can become demanding as the speed increases in later stages. It feels satisfying to find the perfect spot for a tricky piece and watch multiple lines vanish at once.
