About Tetris Dx
I first played Tetris DX on the Game Boy Color in 1998, a version published by Nintendo that felt like a natural upgrade for the handheld. It arrived when the Color was still new, offering a familiar puzzle experience with a fresh coat of paint. This wasn't a complete reinvention, but a refined package that made excellent use of the system's capabilities.
You control the falling tetrominoes, rotating and sliding them to create solid horizontal lines. The main objective is to clear these lines to prevent the block pile from reaching the top of the screen. Two key mechanics are the hold function, which lets you store a piece for later use, and the marathon mode, where the speed gradually increases the longer you survive. The pacing starts deceptively simple, but the relentless acceleration creates a genuine tension. It feels like a constant, satisfying battle against the inevitable climb of the stack.
