So, Tarzan on Game Boy Color—yeah, the one based on that Disney movie. It’s mostly a side-scroller where you swing on vines, dodge leopards, and jump over pits like you’d expect, but there are these weird little diversions too. At one point, you’re sliding down tree branches like it’s a racing game, and later you’re swimming through underwater caves. The controls are a little stiff, but nailing a long vine swing feels pretty satisfying once you get the timing down.
Honestly, the best part is the music—somehow they squeezed those Phil Collins movie tunes into the GBC, and it kinda works. Just don’t expect it to be as fluid as, say, Donkey Kong Country. It’s a solid licensed game for what it is.
