Play Tank Wars Online

Tank Wars is a turn based artillery game released in 1990 for MS DOS systems. It supports between two and ten players, with the option for any participant to be controlled by the computer. Matches can be configured for a duration of one to ninety nine rounds and are controlled using either a keyboard or a mouse.

Players control individual tanks positioned on a randomly generated landscape. The primary objective is to destroy opposing tanks by firing projectiles. Each turn, a player uses an interface at the top of the screen to adjust their shot angle and power, select from a variety of weapons, and account for environmental factors like wind speed and direction. The game progresses through a series of these alternating turns until one tank or team remains. A key progression system allows players who eliminate opponents in a round to spend earned points on new armaments between turns.

The game features a wide array of configurable options that alter its mechanics. These settings can change terrain destruction physics, the behavior of shots that leave the screen, and the visibility of projectiles and their trails. Players have access to eighteen distinct weapons, two guidance systems, and three defensive systems. Additional features include support for team based play and optional sound effects.
