Tak: The Great Juju Challenge is one of those GBA platformers that doesn’t take itself too seriously—and that’s why it works. You play as Tak and Lok, two goofy warriors from the Pupanunu tribe, trying to prove themselves in a series of wild trials. Think obstacle courses with a tribal twist: dodging rolling boulders, hopping across floating totems, and occasionally getting smacked by a very unimpressed Moon Juju.
The controls are simple, but some of the later levels get surprisingly tricky. At first, it feels like a breezy run-and-jump game, but then you hit a trial where timing actually matters—like when you’re balancing on a collapsing bridge while a giant chicken (yes, really) tries to peck you off. The art style’s got that cartoony charm, and the music? Weirdly catchy tribal beats that stick in your head.
If you’re into lighthearted platformers with a bit of humor, this one’s a solid pick. Just don’t blame me when you start muttering “Pupanunu” under your breath for no reason.
