Tak: The Great Juju Challenge is one of those GBA platformers that doesn’t take itself too seriously—and that’s why it works. You play as Tak and Lok, two goofy warriors from the Pupanunu tribe, trying to prove themselves in 15 wild trials set by the Moon Juju. The levels mix puzzles, combat, and some light platforming, with a lot of tribal charm and humor thrown in.
What I like is how the game keeps switching things up—one minute you’re dodging rolling boulders, the next you’re herding animals or solving simple but satisfying juju-powered puzzles. The controls are tight, and the art style has that early 2000s cartoon vibe that just feels nostalgic now. It’s not the hardest game out there, but it’s got enough variety to stay fun.
If you’re into quirky adventure games with a bit of tribal mysticism and some dumb jokes, this one’s a solid pick for the GBA library.
