About Taiketsu Ultra Hero (j)(eurasia)
Taiketsu Ultra Hero is a Game Boy Advance fighting game released in 2003 by Bandai. It arrived when the GBA library was full of licensed titles, and this one lets you control various Ultraman characters. The game was published in Japan and Europe, with the Eurasia version being the one I played.
You pick an Ultraman hero and fight against another in one-on-one battles. The main goal is to deplete your opponent's health bar before they deplete yours. You have a standard set of moves: punches, kicks, and special attacks that consume a meter. A key mechanic is the transformation sequence, which powers up your character. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty can feel unforgiving if you don't learn to block and time your specials. Playing it feels like a quick, straightforward brawl on the go.
