Man, this TMNT GBA game takes me back. You start off picking your favorite turtle—I always went with Donatello because that bo staff has reach—and then it’s straight into smashing Foot Clan goons in classic side-scrolling action. The levels feel like they’re ripped right out of the old cartoon, with sewers, rooftops, and even a few surprise boss fights against guys like Bebop and Rocksteady.
The controls are simple but tight, and each turtle handles a little differently. Raphael’s sais are fast but short-range, while Michelangelo’s nunchucks have this weird arc that takes some getting used to. And yeah, there are power-ups, but half the fun is just wrecking enemies with your basic moves. It’s not super deep, but it’s got that perfect arcade-y feel where you can just pick it up and start swinging.
If you grew up with the Turtles, this one’s pure nostalgia. If not, it’s still a solid beat-’em-up with enough charm to make up for the occasional clunky moment. Just don’t forget to grab the pizza—trust me, you’ll need it.
