About Tg Rally
TG Rally came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2000, a time when portable 3D racing was still a novelty. It was developed by Tarantula Studios and published by Ubisoft, slotting in among other early attempts to bring a polygonal driving experience to the handheld. The game arrived without much fanfare, another title on the shelf for players looking to test the limits of their new hardware.
You control a rally car from a behind the vehicle perspective, navigating through a series of twisting, hazardous tracks. The main objective is simply to finish each stage as fast as possible while avoiding crashes and staying on the road. Signature mechanics include managing your car's damage model, where collisions visibly dent your vehicle and impair its handling, and a co driver navigation system that calls out upcoming turns. The pacing is relentless; the tracks are narrow, and mistakes are punished harshly, making it a difficult game to master. It feels like a constant, tense battle for control against the terrain.
