Okay, so Superman Returns: Fortress of Solitude on the GBA is exactly what it sounds like—you’re Superman, flying around Metropolis, punching bad guys, and occasionally dipping into the Fortress for some downtime. The side-scrolling action feels pretty classic, like those old-school beat ‘em ups but with way more flight time (because, well, Superman).
First thing you’ll notice? The controls take a second to get used to—super-speed and heat vision are mapped to buttons you’ll fumble at first. But once you get the hang of it, zipping between skyscrapers and tossing robots into the stratosphere is stupidly satisfying. The Fortress sections slow things down with puzzles, which are hit or miss—some feel clever, others just make you wish you were back outside wrecking stuff.
It’s not perfect (the camera sometimes fights you mid-flight), but if you ever wanted to feel like Superman on a tiny screen, this does the job. Just don’t expect Arkham-level depth—it’s pure, simple superhero fun.
