Supercross Freestyle came out for the Game Boy Color in 2000, developed by V-Studio and published by Midway. It was part of that wave of portable motocross games trying to capture the energy of the sport on a small screen. You got a lot of these action sports titles back then, each one trying to do something a little different with the hardware.

You control a motocross rider on a dirt bike. The main goal is to land tricks and complete stunt courses without crashing. You build your score by performing backflips, seat grabs, and other aerial maneuvers off ramps. The controls are simple; you use the D-pad and buttons to control your rider's posture and rotation in the air. The game is split into different stunt parks, and you have a limited time to hit all the jumps and build a high score. It can be unforgiving; mistiming a landing sends you tumbling and costs precious seconds. The feeling is a mix of frustration when you bail and a quick rush when you finally chain a few good tricks together.
