Super Wonder Boy (Japan) is basically Sega’s answer to Adventure Island—same vine-swinging, fruit-chomping, enemy-bouncing vibes, but with a little extra charm. The controls feel a bit stiffer than Hudson’s version, but once you get used to it, there’s something satisfying about the way your guy slides after a jump. Also, the music? Weirdly catchy in that 8-bit way.

You start off running left to right (obviously), smashing open eggs for power-ups, and trying not to faceplant into the occasional surprise pit. The first boss is a giant... angry sunflower? Yeah, it’s that kind of game. Not groundbreaking, but solid fun if you’re into retro platformers.
