Super Robot Taisen D on the GBA is one of those classic mech strategy games where you get to throw Gundams, Mazinger, and a bunch of other iconic robots into the same battlefield. The story’s all about taking down the Ruina—some ancient evil that’s predictably bad news—but honestly, half the fun is just seeing your favorite super robots team up in ridiculous crossover fashion.
First few missions ease you in with some basic turn-based grid combat, but it doesn’t take long before you’re juggling upgrade parts, pilot skills, and figuring out which combo attacks actually work. Pro tip: don’t sleep on the support units early on. They seem weak until you realize how much they save your main squad from getting wrecked.
If you’ve played any other SRW game, this one’s got that same satisfying loop of blowing up enemy waves while your pilots yell their over-the-top attack names. The sprite work still holds up, too—big, chunky mechs with flashy animations that make every hit feel weighty.
