Super Real Fishing is one of those weirdly chill Game Boy Color games where you just... fish. No fancy mechanics, no over-the-top story—just you, a rod, and whatever’s biting. The pixel art water actually looks decent for a GBC title, and there’s something oddly satisfying about reeling in a big one with those chunky button presses.

Japan got a few extra fish types compared to other versions, which is neat if you’re into obscure regional differences. Also, the soundtrack? Weirdly relaxing. It’s the kind of game you boot up when you want to zone out for 20 minutes between bus stops.

Definitely not for everyone, but if you’ve ever wanted a portable fishing sim that doesn’t overcomplicate things, this one’s a solid pick.
