About Super Puzzle Fighter Ii Turbo
I first played Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo on the Game Boy Advance, which came out in 2001. It was developed by Capcom, the same company behind Street Fighter, and it felt right at home on the GBA alongside other puzzle games of that era. The screen was small, but the colors were bright and the action was perfectly suited for quick sessions.
You control one of several characters, each represented by a colored gem-dropping panel at the bottom of the screen. Your main job is to clear your own screen by matching colored gems, but the real goal is to send garbage blocks to your opponent. You do this by dropping counter gems onto your own colored gems; when you break a gem, it sends the garbage over. The key is building large gem clusters to create big chain reactions. The game starts slow, but the speed ramps up quickly, demanding fast decisions. It feels tense and satisfying when you set off a huge combo that floods your rival's screen.
