Super Gals! Kotobuki Ran 2 (japan) Game

Super Gals! Kotobuki Ran 2 is one of those late-era Game Boy Color games that really pushes the hardware—bright colors, chunky sprites, and that classic early 2000s anime aesthetic. You play as Ran, the self-proclaimed "world's greatest gal," running around Shibuya causing chaos, picking fights with rival gals, and occasionally helping people out (but mostly just being a menace).
The gameplay’s a mix of side-scrolling beat-em-ups and weird minigames—like rhythm-based dance-offs or trying to haggle for the best deals at clothing stores. It’s janky in that way only licensed GBC games are, but there’s charm in how over-the-top everything is. The dialogue’s all in Japanese, but the exaggerated expressions and Ran’s constant yelling make it pretty easy to follow along.
If you’ve got nostalgia for early 2000s anime or just want to see what a "Shibuya delinquent simulator" looks like on a handheld from 2001, it’s a fun little time capsule.
