Super Chinese Fighter Ex (japan) Game

Super Chinese Fighter EX is one of those weird little Game Boy Color fighting games that somehow ended up being way more fun than it had any right to be. You pick from these goofy anime-style martial artists—some with ridiculous moves like spinning on their heads—and duke it out in tiny pixelated arenas. The controls are surprisingly tight for a GBC fighter, and there's this weird charm to how over-the-top the special moves look on that tiny screen.
First match I played, I accidentally picked the sumo guy who does this belly flop attack that covers half the stage. Took me a minute to figure out the timing, but once it clicked, I was hooked. It's got that perfect "one more round" energy where you keep wanting to try different characters just to see their dumb animations.
Definitely a hidden gem if you're into retro fighters that don't take themselves too seriously.
