About Super Bombliss Dx
Super Bombliss DX came out for the Game Boy Color in 1999, developed by Taito. It was part of that late 90s wave of puzzle games that felt perfectly suited for a handheld, something you could pick up for a few minutes or get lost in for an hour. It didn't try to reinvent the wheel, just offered a solid, portable block-matching challenge.
You control the falling arrangement of blocks, rotating them to create complete horizontal lines that then vanish. The main objective is to keep the playfield clear and survive as long as possible against an ever-increasing speed. Its signature mechanics include the ability to hold a block in reserve for later use, and a Versus mode where you can send garbage lines to a friend's screen. The pacing starts deceptively simple but demands quick decisions as the blocks pile up. It feels like a constant, satisfying battle against the inevitable climb of the stack.
