Star X (e)(drastic And Lost) Game

Star X on the GBA is one of those weird little hidden gems—it’s got this mix of space shooter and puzzle elements that shouldn’t work but somehow does. You start off just dodging asteroids, but then the gravity mechanics kick in, and suddenly you’re slingshotting around planets trying not to crash into enemy drones. The controls take a minute to get used to, but once it clicks, pulling off tight maneuvers feels great.
Visually, it’s got that early 2000s GBA charm—pixelated starfields, chunky explosions, and a soundtrack that’s way catchier than it needs to be. I remember getting stuck on one level where you have to use a black hole to reverse your momentum, and it took me way too many tries to figure it out. Worth the frustration, though.
If you’re into retro space games with a twist, this one’s a solid pick. Just don’t blame me when you lose an hour to the gravity puzzles.
