Okay, so Spyro Orange: The Cortex Conspiracy is this weird little GBA crossover where Spyro and Crash Bandicoot somehow end up in each other’s worlds. It’s not the prettiest Spyro game—the sprites are kinda chunky, and the colors are way more neon than you’d expect—but there’s something charming about it. You’ll bounce between Spyro’s flame-breathing antics and Crash’s spin attacks, which sounds cooler than it actually plays, but hey, it’s fun for a handheld mashup.
The levels are short and chaotic, with Cortex messing things up in the background. One minute you’re platforming as Spyro, the next you’re smashing crates as Crash. The puzzles are simple (think "push the block" or "find the hidden key"), but the controls can be a little stiff, especially when you’re trying to line up a glide. Still, if you grew up with either of these characters, it’s hard not to smile at the sheer absurdity of it all.
Not gonna lie, it’s not the deepest game, but for a quick nostalgia hit on the GBA, it does the job. Just don’t expect Reignited Trilogy levels of polish.
