Spyro Fusion on the GBA is basically the little purple dragon’s greatest hits—gliding through floating islands, torching enemies with that satisfying little flame burst, and collecting gems like a tiny, scaly hoarder. The first few levels ease you in with some classic platforming, but don’t get too comfy—soon you’re bouncing between warp gates and solving puzzles that actually make you pause for a second.
The graphics pop for a GBA game, especially Spyro’s animations when he does that goofy little headbutt charge. And yeah, the music’s still weirdly catchy, even after the tenth time hearing the homeworld theme. Sparx is back too, buzzing around like an overprotective firefly, which helps when you’re trying to track down that one last gem you swear you didn’t miss.
It’s not just nostalgia bait, either—the level designs get creative, mixing in some light puzzle elements that keep you from just mindlessly flame-hopping through everything. Just don’t expect Reignited Trilogy polish; this is pure, slightly janky early-2000s handheld charm. If you’ve got a soft spot for Spyro’s GBA era, this one’s a solid time.
