Spyro 2: Season of Flame on the GBA is basically classic Spyro but pocket-sized—and honestly, it holds up way better than you’d expect. The Rhynocs are back at it, stealing dragonflies (which, rude), so you’re sprinting through these bright, chunky little levels, torching enemies and hunting down gems like always. The controls feel tight for a handheld, and the fire-breathing mechanic just works—no awkward delays or weird hitboxes.
First level drops you straight into a jungle with these floating platforms and sneaky Rhynocs hiding behind palm trees. Took me a second to adjust to the smaller screen, but the level design does a solid job guiding you without feeling cramped. And yeah, the music’s got that nostalgic Spyro vibe, even if it’s tinny GBA synth. If you’ve got a soft spot for purple dragons or just miss early 2000s platformers, this one’s a fun little time capsule.
