Alright, so SpongeBob SquarePants: Lights, Camera, Pants! on the GBA is basically a chaotic little party game disguised as a Bikini Bottom talent show. You pick your favorite character—SpongeBob, obviously, unless you’re secretly a Squidward fan—and jump into these ridiculous mini-games. One second you’re flipping patties at the Krusty Krab, the next you’re dodging jellyfish or racing through Rock Bottom. The controls are simple, but some of the challenges get surprisingly frantic.
What really sells it is the humor—it’s packed with dumb little jokes and animations that feel straight out of the show. The pixel art’s surprisingly expressive too, especially for a GBA game. It’s not deep, but if you’ve got a friend to pass the handheld back and forth with, it’s a solid way to kill time. Just don’t expect to take any of it seriously.
