If you grew up with SpongeBob, this GBA game is basically nostalgia in cartridge form. You start off in Bikini Bottom—bright colors, goofy sound effects, all that—and within minutes Plankton’s up to no good (shocking, I know). The controls are simple, but some of those platforming sections get surprisingly tricky when you’re bouncing around as SpongeBob or bulldozing through stuff as Patrick.
What I like is how each character actually feels different to play. Sandy’s lasso actually matters for swinging across gaps, and Mr. Krabs… well, he mostly just punches things, which is hilarious. The humor’s pure SpongeBob too—expect dumb jokes, random cutscenes, and at least one level where you’re running from a giant anchovy.
It’s not gonna blow your mind with difficulty, but it’s a solid little adventure that nails the cartoon’s vibe. Perfect for short bursts between classes or when you just wanna turn your brain off and karate-chop robots as a talking sponge.
