Okay, so Spider-Man 3 on GBA is basically the side-scrolling brawler you'd expect—but with way more wall-crawling than most. You start off webbing up thugs in alleys, then suddenly you're dodging Sandman’s sand blasts or trying not to get impaled by Venom’s tongue (seriously, that thing is terrifying at this resolution).
The swinging feels a little stiff compared to bigger console versions, but once you get the rhythm, chaining jumps and web zips through NYC’s rooftops is weirdly satisfying. And yeah, the combat’s simple—punch, kick, web—but pulling off a mid-air combo before webbing a guy to a lamppost never gets old.
Fair warning: some of the platforming bits are brutal. There’s this one construction site level where missing a jump means plummeting six screens down. You’ll curse. You’ll retry. You’ll eventually nail it and feel like a genius. Classic GBA difficulty.
If you’ve got a soft spot for handheld superhero games, this one’s a solid time-killer with just enough chaos to feel like Spidey.
