Speedball 2 is basically cyberpunk rugby with more elbows to the face. You’ve got these armored maniacs slamming into each other in a steel cage, trying to score while also just… wrecking the other team. The Master System version tones down the violence a bit compared to the Amiga original, but it’s still gloriously chaotic—half the time I’m just throwing the ball at opponents’ heads for fun.

What’s cool is how fast it plays—no fancy tactics, just pure adrenaline. You’ll bounce off walls, trigger traps in the arena, and occasionally pull off an actual goal between all the punching. The controls are simple, but good luck staying upright when three guys in shoulder pads are charging at you.

Still holds up as one of the most satisfying arcade-style sports games from that era. Just don’t expect fair play.
