Space Invaders on GBC is exactly what it sounds like—the arcade classic, but now in your pocket with that sweet Game Boy Color palette. The aliens still march in those hypnotic rows, the UFO still zips across the top for bonus points, and yeah, you’ll still panic when they speed up near the bottom.
It’s the same tight, simple shooter you remember, just with a little extra color. The controls feel right—no weird GBC adaptation jank—and those crunchy little explosion sounds are still weirdly satisfying. I will say, the screen feels smaller than the arcade, so you’ve got less wiggle room when things get tense.
Perfect for quick sessions, though good luck stopping after just one game. That "one more try" hook is still strong decades later.
