About Sonic Xtreme
Sonic Xtreme was a Flash Classic release, a game that appeared during the era of browser-based Sonic fan projects. It was developed by fans, not Sega, and it felt like a strange offshoot from the main series.
You control Sonic through a series of single-screen stages. Your main goal is to reach the exit before the timer runs out. The game introduces different physics, making Sonic's movement feel heavier and less fluid than in the official titles. You navigate past spiked pits and, in a surprising twist, encounter characters from the Mario universe. The pacing is fast because of the strict time limit, and the unusual physics can make precise platforming difficult. Playing it feels like exploring an alternate, slightly unpolished version of Sonic's world.
