Sonic Chaos Game

Man, Sonic Chaos on the Master System is such a weird little time capsule. It’s not as flashy as the Genesis games, but there’s something charming about how it tries to cram Sonic’s speed into an 8-bit world. You’ve got your loops, your springs, and Robotnik’s goofy contraptions—just scaled down to fit the hardware. The first level throws you right into it: bouncing off badniks, collecting rings, and trying not to faceplant into spikes because, yeah, momentum’s still a thing here.
What surprised me was how different Tails feels to play—he’s got this awkward little hover that makes some sections way easier (or way harder, depending on how bad you are at judging distances). The music’s got that classic Sega jingle quality, especially the bonus stage theme, which will absolutely get stuck in your head. It’s janky in places, but in that "they were really pushing this tiny cartridge to its limits" kind of way. If you’ve got nostalgia for the Master System or just want to see Sonic’s scrappy little cousin, it’s worth a spin.
