I picked up Snood 2: On Vacation for the Game Boy Advance back in 2005, a time when the handheld was full of quirky puzzle games. It was published by Destination Software, and it felt like a natural fit for quick sessions on the go. This was the sequel to the original Snood, a game I remembered from older computers, so I was curious to see how it translated to the small screen.

You control a launcher at the bottom of the screen, aiming and firing groups of colored Snoods upward to clear the board. The main objective is to eliminate all the Snoods before they descend and reach the bottom line. The core mechanics involve matching three or more Snoods of the same color to pop them; you can also use special Snoods, like the stone ones that require multiple hits or the wildcard Snoods that match any color. The game progresses screen by screen through various vacation themed worlds, and the pacing starts relaxed but can get frantic as the rows of Snoods slowly creep down. It feels satisfying to line up a perfect shot and watch a large chain of Snoods disappear at once.
