Okay, so Smurfs Nightmare is one of those weird little Game Boy Color games that feels like it was made in a hurry. You play as Papa Smurf (because of course you do) running through these trippy, nightmare-themed levels to rescue the other Smurfs. The whole thing looks like someone fed a Smurfs cartoon through a fever dream—floating eyeballs, creepy trees, the works.
Controls are kinda stiff, and some jumps feel unfair, but there’s something oddly charming about how bizarre it gets. Like, at one point you’re bouncing on mushrooms while avoiding… giant snails? Yeah. It’s definitely not the best platformer out there, but if you’re into weird licensed games, this one’s a trip.
