Smuggler's Run came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2003, developed by Angel Studios and published by Rockstar Games. It was part of that wave of games trying to bring open world driving experiences to a handheld, a pretty ambitious goal for the hardware at the time. You got this pocket-sized version of a concept that felt much bigger on consoles.

You control a smuggler driving a rugged vehicle through large, open maps. Your main job is to pick up illegal cargo from one spot and deliver it to another without getting caught by the police. The signature mechanics are the open terrain navigation, where you find your own path through hills and forests, and the constant police chases that require sharp evasive driving. The game can be difficult; the cops are persistent, and the terrain itself is a major obstacle. It feels like a tense, chaotic scramble across a miniature frontier where every delivery is a close call.
