Man, this one takes me back. "Simple 2960 Tomodachi Series Vol. 3" was one of those GBA puzzle games I'd pull out during long bus rides—simple enough to jump into, but with that perfect "just one more try" hook. The puzzles start easy, mostly matching tiles and clearing boards, but around level 5 they throw in these weird shape rotations that actually make you pause and squint at the screen.
What I liked was how it didn’t overcomplicate things—no flashy effects or convoluted rules, just clean, grid-based puzzles with a chunky pixel aesthetic. The music’s got that classic GBA synth vibe too, all bouncy and repetitive in the best way. Found myself humming the main theme for days after playing.
It’s not gonna blow your mind, but if you miss that era of portable games where "simple" wasn’t a bad word, this one’s a solid time capsule. Still holds up if you dig out the old cartridge.
