You control Shrek, Donkey, or a few other characters from the film, racing around tracks inspired by locations like the swamp or Duloc. The main goal is straightforward: win each cup by finishing first across a series of races. The signature mechanics include using items you pick up on the track, like magic pumpkins to throw at opponents, and performing power slides around corners to get a temporary speed boost. The pacing is generally quick, and the difficulty feels manageable, though the computer racers can get aggressive in the later cups.
