Shrek SuperSlam is basically Smash Bros but with ogres, fairytale creatures, and a whole lot of swampy chaos. You pick from a roster of Shrek characters—Donkey, Fiona, Puss in Boots, even the Gingerbread Man—and brawl it out in weirdly detailed GBA arenas like Fiona’s castle or the Poison Apple pub. The controls are simple, but there’s some sneaky depth if you figure out the timing for special moves.
At first, I just button-mashed my way through fights, but after a few rounds, I started noticing little things—like how Gingerbread Man’s rolling attack is weirdly strong, or how Donkey’s kicks have this ridiculous range. The stages have hazards too, like falling apples or breakable walls, so matches can flip in seconds. It’s not the most balanced fighter, but who cares when you’re chucking a magic lamp at Prince Charming?
Honestly, it’s dumb fun with just enough polish to keep you from feeling ripped off. If you ever wanted to see Pinocchio suplex a fairy godmother, this is your game.
