You pick up item boxes to get weapons to slow down the other racers, things like projectiles or traps. The tracks have shortcuts and hazards to navigate, and you can perform a turbo boost by sliding around corners. It's not a difficult game; the challenge is mild, and the races are over quickly. The whole experience feels like a basic, slightly clunky kart game that gets the job done for a few quick plays.
