Shrek Hassle At The Castle is one of those licensed GBA games that actually doesn’t suck—shocking, right? You’re basically playing through the first movie as a side-scrolling beat ‘em up, smacking guards with Shrek’s big ogre hands and tossing Donkey around like a furry projectile (which, honestly, feels accurate). The levels are straightforward but fun, with just enough hidden stuff to make backtracking worth it if you’re into that.
It’s got that classic early 2000s platformer feel—not too hard, not too deep, but satisfying when you just wanna wreck some knights and hear Shrek grumble his way through Farquaad’s castle. The sprite work’s decent for a GBA game, too. Definitely better than it had any right to be.
