Shrek Hassle At The Castle (e)(independent) Game

Shrek Hassle At The Castle is one of those licensed games that actually doesn’t suck—which, let’s be honest, is rare for movie tie-ins. It’s a solid little 2D platformer on the GBA where you run, jump, and bash your way through levels that loosely follow the first Shrek movie. The controls are simple but responsive, and the art style nails that grumpy green ogre charm. I was surprised by how much fun it was chucking barrels at guards or bouncing on mushrooms in the swamp.
It’s not groundbreaking, but for a quick nostalgia trip or just a decent handheld platformer, it holds up better than you’d expect. Definitely a hidden gem if you’re into that early 2000s Shrek vibe.
