Shrek 2: Beg For Mercy on GBA is exactly what you'd expect—a chaotic, slightly janky, but weirdly charming beat 'em up starring everyone's favorite swamp-dwelling ogre. You mostly bash your way through waves of fairy tale baddies as Shrek, Donkey, or Puss in Boots (who, let's be honest, is the most fun to play). The sprites are chunky but full of personality, and the dialogue has that same snarky humor from the movies.
It's not deep—just run left, punch knights, collect health pickups shaped like onions—but there's something oddly satisfying about whacking Prince Charming's goons with a comically oversized club. The levels drag a bit toward the end, but it’s a solid time-killer if you’re into licensed games that don’t take themselves too seriously. Just don’t expect a masterpiece.
