Play Shining Force - Resurrection Of The Dark Dragon (u)(trashman) Online

I picked up Shining Force: Resurrection of the Dark Dragon when it came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2004. It was a Sega release, a remake of their earlier Genesis title, and it fit right in with the other tactical RPGs that were popular on the handheld at the time. You don't see many games like this getting full remakes for a portable system, so it felt like a solid, deliberate package.

You control a band of heroes, moving them across grid-based battlefields in turn-based combat. Your main goal is to gather your force and stop the ancient evil, Dark Dragon, from being resurrected. Outside of battles, you explore towns and the world map screen by screen, talking to people to recruit new characters and find better gear. The game introduces specific new characters and a card system not in the original, which can give your units temporary stat boosts or special abilities during a fight. The pacing is generally steady, though some of the later battles can really test your positioning and resource management. It feels like a thoughtful, complete adventure you can carry in your pocket.
