Shingata Medarot - Kuwagata Version (j)(caravan) Game

Shingata Medarot - Kuwagata Version is one of those classic GBA RPGs where you collect and customize little robot creatures (Medabots, if you grew up with the anime). The Kuwagata version gives you access to the beetle-type Medabots right off the bat—they hit hard but move slow, so you’ve gotta balance your team.
First thing you’ll notice is the chunky pixel art and that satisfying click-clack sound when swapping parts. The turn-based battles feel like a mix of Pokémon and tactical RPGs, since positioning actually matters. Early on, you’ll be scraping together parts from battles to upgrade your bots, and yeah, some of the translations are… questionable. But it’s got that weird charm older Japanese RPGs always do.
If you’re into retro mecha games with a side of grind, this one’s a solid time capsule.
