Okay, so Shin Megami Tensei Devil Children: Puzzle De Call! is this weird little GBA puzzle spin-off where you’re basically matching tiles to summon demons—kinda like if Pokémon Puzzle League had a goth phase. The first few levels trick you into thinking it’s just a cute color-matching game, but then the SMT flavor kicks in: demons start popping up with their usual cryptic dialogue, and suddenly you’re strategizing which ones to fuse or recruit mid-combo.
It’s got that classic Atlus jank—some of the mechanics feel a bit clunky at first, especially if you’re used to smoother puzzlers, but there’s something weirdly addictive about chaining together matches while a pixellated Jack Frost cheers you on. The demon designs are the real highlight, though. Half the fun is just seeing who shows up next.
Definitely more of a niche pick, but if you’ve ever wanted to yell “why won’t you join me?!” at a puzzle grid, this might be your thing.
