About Shaun Palmer's Pro Snowboarder (g)(lightforce)
Shaun Palmer's Pro Snowboarder came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2002, published by Activision. It was part of a wave of sports titles that tried to capture the feel of extreme sports on the small screen. This was a time when portable games were getting more ambitious, and snowboarding was a popular genre to attempt.
You control Shaun Palmer or another pro rider down a series of mountain courses. The main goal is to win races and trick competitions by building up your score and speed. You perform grabs and spins by combining button presses, and you have a special trick meter you can fill for bigger point bonuses. The game moves quickly, and the controls take some practice to master, especially when you are trying to land complicated lines. It feels like a fast, challenging arcade experience condensed into a handheld.
