Okay, so Shamu's Deep Sea Adventures on GBA is way more fun than I expected. You're basically this killer whale swimming through coral reefs, dodging jellyfish, and doing little tricks to collect stuff—kinda like a watery platformer, but with more barrel rolls. The controls take a second to get used to (why does a whale feel so floaty?), but once you figure out the timing for jumps and spins, it’s weirdly satisfying.
Graphics are bright and cartoony, which works—you’ll spot sunken treasure, those weird anglerfish with the glowing lures, and yeah, way too many bubbles. There’s this one level where you’re racing against a clock while seals cheer you on, and I may or may not have failed it three times before realizing I could dash. Classic early 2000s handheld charm, honestly.
Not gonna lie, it’s a niche pick, but if you’ve got a soft spot for animal protagonists or just want something chill to zone out with, Shamu’s got your back. Just watch out for the mines. Yes, there are mines. Don’t ask.
