About Sega Arcade Gallery (u)(trashman)
Sega Arcade Gallery for the Game Boy Advance is a compilation of four classic Sega arcade games: Space Harrier, Fantasy Zone, After Burner, and OutRun. Released in the early 2000s, it was part of a wave of retro collections that brought older arcade hits to handheld systems. The game was published by THQ, making these once coin-op experiences portable.
You control different vehicles and characters depending on the game. In Space Harrier, you pilot a jet and shoot down enemies in a third-person perspective, constantly moving forward. Fantasy Zone has you flying a ship left and right to destroy enemy bases while managing a shop to upgrade your weapons. The main objective in each game is to survive as long as possible, achieving a high score. Signature mechanics include the forced-scrolling levels of Space Harrier and OutRun's branching path system where you choose your route at the end of each stage. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty is authentic to the original arcade versions, meaning it can be quite challenging. Playing it feels like carrying a small, demanding arcade in your pocket.
