Okay, so Secret Agent Barbie: Royal Jewels Mission is way more fun than it has any right to be. You start off in this ridiculous spy outfit—like, full-on Bond but with pink sunglasses—and immediately get thrown into sneaking past guards, cracking safes, and solving little puzzles to track down stolen jewels. The GBA graphics actually hold up pretty well for a Barbie game, with these bright, cartoony levels that feel like you’re playing through a Saturday morning cartoon.
What surprised me was the variety—one minute you’re tailing a suspect through a Parisian market (while avoiding puddles because, of course, Barbie won’t ruin her boots), the next you’re hacking a security system with a mini-game that’s weirdly satisfying. The controls are simple, but some of the later stealth sections actually make you think. And yeah, there’s a ton of outfit changes because, well, it’s Barbie. Wouldn’t be the same without her swapping disguises mid-mission.
If you’re into lighthearted spy games or just miss that early 2000s GBA charm, this one’s a blast. It doesn’t take itself seriously, and neither should you.
