Okay, so Santa Claus Saves The Earth is this weirdly charming GBA game where you play as Santa—not just delivering presents, but full-on saving the planet from some grinchy villains trying to wreck Christmas. The first level throws you right into a snowy village, dodging rogue snowballs (who knew snow could be so aggressive?) while collecting presents that somehow double as health pickups.
The sprites have that classic chunky GBA charm—elves look perpetually panicked, reindeer bounce when they run, and Santa’s sack somehow fits an entire arsenal of candy cane projectiles. There’s something hilarious about watching him backflip over traps like a festive action hero. The music’s all jingle bells and synth, which should be annoying but somehow works when you’re mid-air tossing gifts at evil snowmen.
It’s janky in that early-2000s handheld way, but that’s part of the appeal. You’ll either love it for its sheer absurdity or quit after five minutes when a surprise icicle knocks you into a pit. Either way, it’s a time capsule of holiday chaos.
