Samurai Jack: The Amulet of Time on GBA nails that classic cartoon vibe—you’re immediately thrown into Jack’s world with the same sharp art style and those eerie, empty landscapes from the show. The first level drops you right into a ruined city, slashing through Aku’s robot minions with smooth, quick sword combos. Feels good when you get the rhythm down.
What surprised me was how much platforming and light puzzle-solving they mixed in. You’ll be wall-jumping between crumbling towers one minute, then figuring out how to activate some ancient time gate the next. The time-travel gimmick keeps the settings fresh—one minute you’re in a feudal village, the next you’re dodging lasers in a dystopian future.
Fans will recognize a bunch of Jack’s moves straight from the series, like the sprinting slash or that satisfying overhead strike. And yeah, the soundtrack’s got those haunting chants and taiko drums—perfect for slicing up shadowy monsters on the bus ride home. It’s not the deepest action game, but it’s a solid little GBA adventure that actually feels like playing an episode of the show.
